Ory Okolloh Makes TIME’s 100 Most Influential People List 2014

Okolloh, a well-established leader in the technology and transparency communities, who also co-founded and executive director of Ushahidi, the crowd-mapping tool and the co-founder of Mzalendo, a parliamentary watchdog site for Kenya. Former Google Policy Manager for Africa, Ory Okolloh who joined Omidyar Network last May as director of investments for the organisations initiatives in Africa, has been listed as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME magazine.

According to TIME,

Ory Okolloh, who was routinely thrown out of school in Kenya because her parents couldn’t pay the fee, got a Harvard Law degree and a job offer from a D.C. law firm.
